Glen Mar is hosting the Cold Weather Shelter March 22-29. This is our 7th year working along side 16 other congregations to support the Cold Weather Shelter Program run by Grassroots. There are many volunteer opportunities, such as preparing meals, providing transportation morning and evening, evening and overnight shift hosts, laundry and housekeeping. Volunteer signup will begin Feb. 28th in the Gathering Place between services

Get out in the community with PATH (People Acting Together in Howard)! PATH is about to kick off its biggest campaign yet! We will be going door to door to talk face to face with 4000 Howard County residents this spring and summer to sign them up for Healthy Howard, an affordable health care plan (www.healthyhowardplan.org) and to find out what are the top issues facing families in our neighborhoods. Youth On A Mission (YOAM) Spring Trip Update: There is still time to sign up for the YOAM trip to Slidell, LA from April 4-10, 2010 to continue Hurricane Katrina recovery work. Trip cost is $300. The first installment of $100 has been collected and the second deposit of $100 is now due. Sign up needs to occur by February. Beautify the Spirit Center - Donate flowers in honor or memory of your loved ones. Sign up on the Altar Flower Chart located by the staff mailboxes near the kitchen. The cost is $20/vase and order envelopes are located at the sign up area for your convenience.
PreSchool Registration - is planned for late February 2010 to serve children 6 weeks to 5 years old.
Save the Date - June 12, 2010 will be our Farewell Party for Andy and Joan Lunt. It will take place in the Spirit Center. Please look for details in the coming months.
Meal Preparation Help Needed - Every 4th Saturday prepare a meal for delivery to the Route 1 Homeless Ministry (Grassroots Resource Center) to feed approximately 70 people. Please contact Gini Edwards

Grassroots Ministry - Your small group or family can come help provide a meal to the Grassroots Crisis Center in Columbia. We serve on the 4th Tuesday of the month and bring meatloaf/drinks. Contact Janet Eagles for info 410-461-8385.
Money for Old Papers/Playground Equipment - We receive funds toward our new playground equipment by using the new recycling bin in the parking lot. We are paid for each ton of paper collected. Drop off your bagged papers, mail, magazines, etc. (no cardboard, telephone books, or kitchen/bathroom waste).
Blood Pressure Screening - takes place in the church office on the third Sunday of every month between the 9:30 & 11:00 services.
