VIM Trips are for adults or youth with an accompanying parent, and are sponsored by the United Methodist Volunteers in Mission (UMVIM). United Methodist Volunteers in Mission (UMVIM) provides everyday people with the opportunity to be short-term missionaries is one of the most heralded programs in The United Methodist Church. UMVIM volunteers go out in teams to do construction and spiritual formation projects for people and places in need. They are people of all different skill levels, serving as the hands and eyes of Christ.
Glen Mar VIM teams make spring and summer trips annually.
Announcements:
- Hear About Haiti! May 12th: Join the team that went to Haiti on Sat., May 12 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. in the Youth Lounge. We want to thank our supporters and share our experiences with the congregation and friends. We will be sharing our adventures, eating Haitian snacks and watching a great photo slide show. Come and find out: Just how big are the tarantulas? How many stitches were sewn on the trip? What might a balloon pump come in handy for (besides pumping up balloons)? At what time would a Haitian rooster want to wake you up? What other projects might Glen Mar (and possibly you?) tackle in Merger, Haiti?
The evening is free and EVERYONE of all ages is invited! For more info or to rsvp, contact Holly Gillum at hollygillum1@gmail.com.
