MISSIONS

God depends on all of us to be servants in the world. Our families and our community depend on the gifts that we willingly share outside the walls of the church. We understand that while some ministry necessarily takes place within the church building, most ministry is shared outside the walls of the church.

Glen Mar participates in many Mission Ministries that provide outreach opportunities. Most of these opportunities are local ministries that are less than a half-hour away where whole families can participate and only require a few hours of your time. We also participate in several mission trips that are further away and last about a week.

• Glen Mar's Relay for Life Team, Angels for a Cure, will be participating in this year's Relay for Life - Howard County, to benefit the American Cancer Society, on June 4, 2010. • Haiti Earthquake: Over $26,000 in donations so far! Read how you can help out here. We are also collecting Health Kits to be sent to UMCOR (United Methodist Church Committee on Relief) teams for distribution in Haiti. Click here for a list of items. Glen Mar will ship them for you. Please place kits in the collection box in the Gathering Area.
• Did you get a new computer for Christmas? If so, and you are looking for a home for your old computer, please let us know. We are collecting old computers, especially flatscreen monitors, for the computer lab at Monroe Street UMC. Please contact Van Beall at 410.531.7170 or via email at sharethedream@prodigy.net.
• Gift Card Coordinator Needed: The gift card program is seeking a new coordinator or group of volunteers who can oversee and order the inventory, track sales and Family Accounts, and schedule volunteers.
