The Youth program at Glen Mar is so active that they have their own web site. But here are some basics about Youth Ministry at Glen Mar.
SUNDAY MORNINGS (September - June)
Sunday School Classes at 9:30am for youth in grades 6 & 7 in "The Well" and 9 through 12 in room 124.
Confirmation Class at 9:30 am for youth in 8th grade and older who are not confirmed in room 123.
SUNDAY EVENINGS
Open Recreation – the Spirit Center is open most Sunday evenings from 4 to 5pm for free recreation for the senior high youth. Volleyball, basketball, dodgeball, broom hockey and more are possible activities.
Senior High Youth (9th – 12th grades) meet every Sunday evening from 5 to 7pm in the Youth Lounge at the church. The group participates in a wide range of activities focusing on fellowship, recreation, discussion, worship and service. Dinner is included each week. Youth are asked to bring $2 each.
FRIDAY NIGHTS
Middle School Youth Group – Middle school youth (6th - 8th grade) meet weekly on Friday nights from 7 to 9pm in Youth Lounge. The focus is on active learning, service and weekly recreation time. Snacks are provided.
MUSIC OPPORTUNITIES
Voices of Praise - Vocal choir for 6th through 12th grade youth. Rehearses Sundays from 10:45 to 11:30am. Contact Denise Wagner for more info.
Youth Handbell Choir – Handbell choir for 6th through 12th grade youth. Rehearses Sundays from 3:30 to 4:45pm. Contact Carrie Grams for more information.
Second Chance – youth rock/praise band and singers perform regularly during youth group, worship and special functions. Rehearses Thursdays from 5 to 7pm. Contact Jen Rowell for more information.
